So as of now, Billy is 32 years old. When String was just 2, his father passed away due to heroin overdose. Later on, his mother, Debra Apostol remarried Terry Barber, a Bluegrass musician. Sooner, Terry became a great father figure to Billy. After a while, his family decided to move to Morehead, Kentucky and later to Muir, Michigan.
When he was just 13, he left his family and became addicted to drugs. Later on, he became sober and started consuming only cannabis and other lighter drugs.
